In the old days (last year) you could request certain papers, at least at decent hotels. Meant WSJ, FT and NYT for me.

Before the internet, USA Today had one of the best baseball statistics/box scores sections. That was the primary value of what I believe was the "red" section. Sometimes I'd skim the "purple" section
