it is remarkable how bad most "literary" memoirs are, given how so many of them are completely made up

The new literary memoir takes place in Paramus NJ. People meet at Chik Fil A and argue over the ethics of using Arby's horsey sauce on nuggets rather than the store brand. Spanish Civil War or Norman Mailer's feuds never come up.
