my parents were Bad People but i really own it. that's part of how i do the work. that's the tea. but as i reflect on so many other parents, Worse People by several orders of magnitude, i realize i gave my folks a Bad Rap. maybe i just need to re-frame their misdeeds
like how my dad and i would spend all that time on the couch watching his vhs recordings of old fleischer/looney tunes cartoons in which characters crossdressed. that was woke af. that was woke avant la lettre. and that's just one insignificant little detail.
