perhaps, though it certainly doesn't mark me as such. i work in a field defined by industry and trade-specific certifications, as does my brother. if anything, my background is an impediment, so i say little about it. i just deliver on the deliverables

that thing is meaningless, but it was a benefit of slinging copy for VICE for a time. what matters is editors reaching out to pitch me, and me delivering on that content. high-visibility places pay nothing, but a wrestler obit can get you 75 cents a word in the right place

oh, i'm aware of the position i occupy, such as it is. everything i do is calibrated to generate income. that's the mentality i was raised with, by a father who owned a bar and sold used cars. everything is work. everything is for sale.

twitter is the only non-remunerative contribution i make to anything. i'm very open about that. i'd work 24 hrs a day if my body would hold up.

I wish twitter delivered more of that. Mainly it's that they get my email address either from my website or from here (I think it's on here), and then they email me. A few articles in particular have led to a lot more work. Many have just led to paychecks. But I'll take it
