If you think about how hard it is to get 100-200 people to do even one simple thing — and it’s no knock on them, it’s just life — you can see why all the theorizing and organizing in the world is likely to come up empty handed

I think you're completely correct about it being 100% unclear just how big the audience for this crap is. One of the reasons I've been fairly resistant to the idea of writing more stuff like this is that I don't consider talking to the left to be particularly useful.
i mean, it was a great piece, but what *is* the ultimate impact of its appearance in the world? mark fisher certainly wrote one very good essay, but mark fisher is no longer with us. how many have actually read that essay? i wonder about that.

Yep. I belong to a nascent populist movement that is actually out there Doing Work in the real world, and has fairly good prospects for the future. That shit matters, words on the internet doesn't matter unless they can somehow be translated into action out there in meatspace.
