the "baby web" is full of the worst-written content (most of it by publicists under journo bylines) and rife w/ misinformation unlike anything I've encountered anywhere else. most of the advice is some mix of folk wisdom, marketing, superstition, and "stopped clock" reasoning

I love me some baby publicists bc they've outfitted my daughter w/ literally every high-end product in the world, but only a handful of these things work. The cheaper the miracle product (best baby bottle ever), the worse it is. Love to see it!

Most of this is directed at "mommies" and is so incoherent that the baby constantly bounces from one fad solution to another, developing no sense of continuity but plenty of pointless anxiety of the sort that powers an adult world that would otherwise stagnate if ppl quit working
