It's an interesting episode & podcast (I'll subscribe to it on patreon as soon as I re-get a credit card) but I'm really curious, do you two feel there's anything worthwhile to engage in politically in current times, or do you think it's all a lost cause at the moment? Maybe...

you could devote, say, 1 out of every 5 episodes on some political initiative/figure/policy that you do support, if something like that could be possible... just so that every episode is not only on a critique of the left, but maybe advocating for something, somewhere, as well...

maybe not every one out of five, but we've certainly discussed some episodes like that. but i don't want people to think the work is built merely on tearing down the left: it is merely saying what it isn't, in our analysis. that is step one of any positive project.

politically i'm something of a "three acres and a cow" localist, someone who draws inspiration from some but not all aspects of figures like huey long and jim trafficant (who actually played college and semi-pro football with and against my father)

(I was thinking to propose 1/9 episodes on something non-criticism, but I thought that ratio would sound pretentious) All fair points, I've been away from politics for a long time, I'm probably something like the localist persuasion you mention... I've tried to research some...

lists of policies/reforms that I would like to see, just to start out again my thinking on politics... but when you set out the high bar of only working on things that might have a chance of coming into effect, I'm not sure what would make the grade... anyways, definitely...
