I say this as a personal essay vet, a man who has laid down tens of thousands of dollars of PEs for himself and others (no foolin'), a man who has written 100s of PEs and read at least five or six of those

Personal essays are getting an overly bad rep at the moment because lots of self indulgent people have extra time, but its still a wonderful genre. I've loved many of your PEs, you're a great writer with no delusions. People actually do need good thoughts about common dilemmas.

Mine are fiction too, if only because the ones about my old man have to be toned down and sanitized for the R rating
