Aren't most people just most fond of the period they were young/adolescent in? Like if you were in puberty in the late 90s you are going to react a certain way to shattered glass, "jabroni," or a sock with a face drawn in sharpie.
The 90s were an interesting time because the wrestling viewership was mostly grown-up 80s viewers, hence the shift to an "R" rating, more Jerry Springer-esque content, etc. And those fans were interested in backstage antics.
But for actual 8 year olds who were allowed to watch it, like my cousin...he did indeed watch it. And is fond of the wrestling as such, from the 90s
Yeah I don't remember much of the actual wrestling except for Hart or Foley matches from the attitude era. Even Kurt Angle. But I do remember a lot of the promos and storylines. And the "puppies" always the puppies.
