Yep, safer than stopping just before 90 degrees. No knee involvement at all. Just hips, hamstrings, and back

I forget where - some lifehacker/TimFerriss type said 45 degree squats were just as good as full/ Right now I'm just using a weighted vest and a kettleball for reps. Will shift to heavier weights in 3 months.
