There's this very strident little nook within academia out of which people will emerge to tell you that single-term limits for all elected offices (never mind that it won't happen) will lead to total lobbyist capture (never mind that this has already happened).

I think single-term limits would lead to greater randomness and more useful "to heck w/ this, I'm doing it" as opposed to perma-campaigning. Also, choosing politicians by random draw, as with juries, would also be preferable to the hiring of "professionals"
