I think you're just someone in a white collar job who examined the competing class interests and concluded your lot is with the workers. You're not really betraying anything -- you chose to associate with that class.
At my job, as you know, it's largely irrelevant because everyone is a republican and the more strident my rhetoric gets, the more they think I'm far right. I can't convince them otherwise!
