resistance training without PED usage (admittedly only a shadow of the true thing) self-regulates -- one can only do so much, volume-wise, and the possibility of tears, etc. are minimal. other injuries, as to the shoulders and knees, can be reduced to nil with proper coaching

I meannnnn... 'reduced to nil with proper form' is an argument along the lines of saying vegetarians 'just haven't had meat cooked right' but whatevs. We can agree, anyway, that even risky activities can be made safer w/form+training. How much safer is a question for another day.
