They hate Shapiro but the funny thing is that most of the things they say about him or not really true

Sure. When they discuss these people, it's their cartoon versions of them

I think a lot of it is that they just pass along things that they hear and then it becomes kind of like a game of telephone

They do almost nothing in terms of reading or researching people about whom these claims are made. All kinds of random people are referred to as nazis, rapists, etc. which actually weakens the impact of those terms and makes the accusers seem foolish

Exactly it's just passing along anecdotes

That's very tribalistic behavior

I'm not a fan of it but this sort of thing seems more like a shared religion or spirituality than reporting current affairs in their proper context
