Podcast (political): millennials pay each other to tell jokes about Ben Shapiro. Shapiro also has a podcast and we assume he is being paid by someone, too

I think a lot of it is that they just pass along things that they hear and then it becomes kind of like a game of telephone
They do almost nothing in terms of reading or researching people about whom these claims are made. All kinds of random people are referred to as nazis, rapists, etc. which actually weakens the impact of those terms and makes the accusers seem foolish
