Yeah, two things can be right. China unleashed something sinister. And the West, particularly the USA, fumbled the response.
We really need to get to a point at which this is possible in the discourse, not immediately drawing battle lines over basic details

I have "Western" friends and acquaintances who hate the USA so much that they knee-jerk embrace Cuba, Venezuela, and China. It's madness. There is a third way.

we see that with domestic issues too, as when a phenotypically white person proposes "white genocide" on twitter, etc. good for clout i guess. fun for arguments.
