We don't have universal health care, paid sick leave, wage growth tied to productivity gains & basic workplace protections because the U.S. unlike other industrialized countries has a political system completely dominated by radical big business trade groups.

There's such a complete disconnect on the American left and many journalists who obsess over minor alt-right trolls or exaggerate other fringe groups, when the vast majority of Americans suffer needlessly because of the influence of big business groups that operate in the open.

It's easy to report and personalize those inconsequential stories, and they drive engagement on here. Reporting big stories takes time and $, but these folks walk nonstop on a content mill water wheel. Trump, mean tweets, and meaningless issues that get social media traction

At some point you may start believing that "Trump is gaslighting you" (like a lover?) and "Miss Piggy is a domestic abuser" if that's what keeps the $200 checks coming your way. Your world becomes those takes and takes within or in relation to those takes
