What I have difficulty remembering is a time when our politics, media and boardrooms were so dominated by septuagenarians. And when they won’t do, the papers go trolling for 95 yr old William Websters to sign op-eds. Some forced retirements might do us good.

Ask Cronkite. He would have been tempted to stay on past 65 if not for the mandatory shepherd’s crook at CBS. I guess in politics the voters have to enforce it, since the parties and kingmakers won’t.
