I remember in grad school people being excited about this historian or that one but I had a brother who could pull an engine out of a truck and get it into a boat and get us out on the Roanoke River that same day, so I dngaf. The paychecks for history prof were so-so

I don't know how to make graphics memes, but there should be one with you as the Chad getting published in the Atlantic without ever reading it and then the Virgin guy idolizing them, reading every issue, never being able to get published.

I had no idea the demand for space in there (and some of these other places) was so great. I was just looking to get paid, and I figured I could use that byline (they pay way less than places you'd think wouldn't pay much) to sell other stuff, get freebies from publicists, etc.

I called them once to get paid, since writers sometimes get paid, and someone named Loren answered. Just answered the phone "this is Loren." I thought I had the wrong number. Guess that guy got metoo'd
