“Joe Biden and Trump both make loads of verbal gaffes” ignores several important points: 1) Trump is much, much sharper with insults at this stage in the game 2) Trump owns his gaffes or ignores them 3) Biden was never razor-sharp in his youth and can barely finish sentences
Trump’s bluster is that of the clown or carnival huckster; Biden sounds worse than my maternal grandfather did during the last years in the care center. This will be a real test: can someone who is *already senile* defeat social media’s greatest heel?
Trump can own Biden simply by waiting til he says some gibberish, cutting him off, and saying, “What’s the matter, Joe? Senile? Send this guy to the home. C’mon folks.”
The democrats running against Biden should’ve done the same — “old dying out of touch white man” is a safe category of derision — but most crave the patronage of the 2020 iteration of King Lear
