One thing I've learned from covering many of the "alpha nerd" subjects (wrestling, comics, lifting, etc.) is that many of the followers of those hobbies will instantly pit their bona fides against mine Which is fine because a) I don't care b) usually only one of us is being paid

The same even goes for writing, history, whatever. I don't sit on my work like it's some kind of golden egg I'm hatching. I push it out there, invoice it, and move on

I'm amused by corrections along the lines of "he wrote CYBORG when he meant ANDROID." I mean, cool, but if you're getting a per word rate and the editor let it go through, it's all the same in the end

That's right, you're spilling it. Maybe someone should make an uber type app to let them bulk fact check things in their discipline. But for some no fact would be true enough
