If you're a paid reviewer ($50), your go-to joke becomes "read it? I haven't even reviewed it yet!" And 90% of those reviews are based on a skim of the introduction combined with a decision either to follow the consensus or to buck it in order to generate a little controversy
I love reading but work and family make it tough to do so. Audible books and podcasts are what I do when in traffic. Maybe when I retire?
