As a New Yorker at the time, did you think it was an accurate representation of the city?

Of course not. The hubbub baffled me. I remember on 10/20/92, as @nickyotissmith was delivered by c-section, the 8 doctors were all yammering about Seinfeld as I peered in and saw my wife’s guts. That was #doingthework, as @MoustacheClubUS would surely agree.

Seinfeld was the quintessential New York sitcom during the early 90s that have a satirical take on everyday life.

It was garbage TV, maybe worse than that show that had a zip code in its name.

There were far worse shows than those two. Many of them that air today.
