There's this weird cadre of people who are "sorta edgy left" who do exactly what this person did, who are cultivating their online images as carefully as Mayor Pete grooms/manicures his Wikipedia. But why? What's the gain? You can do much better just working for a living

I study these brand behaviors and I can't really explain most of them unless I imagine these people are just playing a consequences-free game with some of their "comrades" while toeing the line on enough bland, stupid positions to avoid alienating their base.
But I don't need to do that, because I don't care, because I don't need to play pretend for some PayPal money and likes from people who believe that both Movie Bob and Liz W are Ok, Actually
