Though do agree the grift is so overt with Herzog all the fulminating reactions by professionals have a grifter tone as well. The other responses indicate twitter is not really a healthy pastime for anyone (including Herzog & Yglesias).
Everyone’s just positioning themselves for their next blog post or “piece” as we call them nowadays. Other than me. I just watch while continuing to do the best kind of stories: stories for which I’m guaranteed payment, that will offend no one, that keep my name off the tweets
Partially just mad I'll never make money off takes. My poetry hobby occasionally paid, but once in a job with horrible hours, take watching seemed an easier distraction. Now realizing twitter may best be incorporated into doing other more active things.
