Then there's another type of fan, and I numbered among this group for a while, that loves pure "workrate" and "athleticism" above all else -- true snapped suplexes in matches that are 30 minute spotfests

Then you've got the post-postmodern fan: the fan who is obsessed with total performance, the fan who willingly embraces kayfabe, the fan who is a kind of e-wrestling "fedhead" or fantasy booker. A growing number of modern wrestling nerds are like this

Not watching wrestling but following the gossip/nostalgia is a fascinating way to do it, and part of many fans' progressions, I think

I stopped following new music around 2005/6 but continued reading the "music press" for another half decade, often unaware of what was being written about. I follow takes/celebrities this way too...I couldn't identify a Post Malone tune but I know what he represents
