I will vote for any Presidential candidate who institutes a program of national service: 2 unpaid years working for your choice of the military, Aetna, Palantir, Halliburton, or a hedge fund
Unpaid is key. Internships are "life changing" ... you feel better because instead of getting paid, you get to "pay your dues"

if you think about it, your employer is doing you a favor--training you for free! people should have to pay for unpaid internships tbh, market value + 20%

I think so. It’s the only fair way to sort this out. People pay college tuition, right? And sometimes they pay for internship credit hours, yes? So why not cut the middleman and just let the kids pay to work for the companies they want to join ?
