Honestly, as someone who has written loads of exploitative quit, often for editors who wound up on that media men list, I’d be harder pressed to write an article about quitting academia in 2019 than I would to write an article about quitting the hot takes or Foot Locker

Quitting academia? sure whatever. I’m gonna quit reading. Quit doing the maths. Quit translating a language into another language. just gonna call all of that off. They sure will miss me, my fellow academics. Yes indeed. They definitely won’t be glad there’s one less academic

Nobody cares that you or anyone else is thinking, or has stopped thinking. And by anyone I include myself. If you start thinking your thoughts matter, it’s time to get some different thoughts or maybe spend more time at the pool
