I don't really believe our grasp of "theory" or "discourse" is much better than it was a decade ago, but our awareness of simple bits of fragmentary knowledge and tricks of argumentation is considerably higher, since we watch those tweets and posts flash in front of us all day

The Extremely Online elite can track a few headlines very closely, like the "Young Pope" or the "curvy wife man." We can have total awareness of those headlines now, even if they're attached to nothing. And for small amounts of money we can write text under headlines about them

That said, watching the tweets is Doing the Work. Linking someone to a well known Take or book excerpt you haven't read is Doing the Work. Saying "delete your account" is Doing the Work. And I am Here for It
