I also like it when a writer who is just not good at writing, who cannot really file coherent drafts or craft simple sentences on any kind of timeline, hits it big with some editorially-manipulated hot take and thereafter becomes a "big name" author

Probably lots of them. Way more than I suspected. I'm a "clean copy" person, I had no idea this was not the case across the board for "working writers"

I find it maddening. How can a writer deliver a “finished” article that gets the name, say, of a film director or Senator wrong. No pride.
