some fitness influence for the “kids” ... the hook grip 660 lb deadlift training rep ... “DTW” ... “H4I”pic.twitter.com/6DPmQyg08J
i get my deadlift volume from the trap bar (i'll do 5 total reps at 600+ pounds on the barbell, 20 from the low handles on the trap bar) and i get my squat volume from the safety squat bar (driving through the hips, etc.) and keep my barbell squat volume lower than most people

overall my exercise volume is probably lower than most people doing this because i'm 37 and not using PEDs. "use PEDs" is probably my main advice to anyone, though, if they're needing to do this at a very high level. i'll double overhand the deadlift warmups til the low 500s

the biggest deadlift "tip" i know is strengthening the lats via things like proper-form paused bench press, which prevents back rounding while you complete the lift. I focus on a strong hold through the lats, which seem to keep the back straight.
