I work fifty hours a week at a full time job, ten to twenty at freelance, and "loop around" whenever an email comes in because I've been socialized to believe that I'll be fired if I miss anything.
this is honestly so fucked up it makes me sick
Our generation has been trained to expect the firings, it seems. I freelance at this point mainly as a “hedge” against that, stockpiling money while “still employed” ... a “backup plan”
