one of my favorite moments in sports history is when George O'Leary lost the Notre Dame coaching job because he lied about playing college football, then he went to Central Florida and won a bunch of games. Because lying doesn't matter.
Or at least, lying about stuff unrelated to your narrow job description doesn't matter. I like to tell my co-workers I've carried the Húsafell Stone, but this isn't true, yet it has nothing to do with my spreadsheets and strategy and so on
It helps that they don't know what the Húsafell Stone is or why I keep talking about it
