fitness influence for the “kids” who “do the work”: doubling 610 using the hook grip on the rogue deadlift bar that rogue gave me because I’m an influencer of such thingspic.twitter.com/S09FhRjUq1
I was having some issues with reverse grip, getting huge weights but hitching a bit. I wanted something that forced me to focus on the entire pull for training purposes. I’ve been doing hook for about two years. I do more sets and fewer reps, but zero issues w/ injury etc.

First time I did hook grip I tore a huge chunk of skin off my thumb, but the pull itself felt amazing, so I need to work on it more.

yeah, it still hurts for doubles at high weights, but nothing is tearing. it definitely forces you to be much more aware of what is going on, and also much more astonished at how batshit crazy it is that someone from the USSR clean and jerked 590 lbs using the hook grip
