Never followed up on it, but when I was writing about white supremacist “Viking” culture in the Pacific Northwest, there was a hyper masculine extreme piece to their culture. Along with martial arts and being very hairy and not washing.

Nice article. In my 30's I weight trained. Not in comp, just for me. I loved the strength/fitness that came with. I read the mags. Lifting for a female in the 80s was comment-worthy. Mostly "don't get too big". It was funny to me that people were so concerned that I stay dainty.
