I cannot allow some sort of Derelict or "Bum in Need of a Good Shower" to operate this automated food kiosk...we can only hire the Pure of Heart at this pay rate ($10 an hr). You must get current on your Child Support before I can give you this job that will let you do just that

I worked at a restaurant that preferred line cooks that owed heavy child support. Some guys working for a paycheck, some working to stay out of the can

That was how my dad ran his dealership...cash payments to local drifters, handymen who could be paid with free rent in one of his trailers, etc. A special kind of labor pool, a bonus army if you will
