"buried in email...just digging out" isn't a great excuse if that's your excuse every single day of the week. You might want to get better with email. And I say that as someone who responds to 150, maybe 200 emails a day.

Yeah, I always side-eyed folks who pulled this excuse--especially when I followed them on social media and read the 20+ tweets they had time for that afternoon.

Exactly. I do this weird thing where I answer emails as they come. Especially when they only require short answers.
