I blame the editor here because I'm sure the writer didn't mean to conflate all this stuff
it seems to actually work against progressive causes the author surely supports, and gives ammo to folks on the other side who might point to how serious topics are mixed with trivial ones in a way that minimizes whatever critique was attempted here. very bad editing
