I've just started pretending to dabble in something that looks vaguely like real weightlifting (but actually just for conditioning). I haven't pushed my luck past benching 70 or 80 pounds yet, so this is fairly mind blowing.

I used to recommend books by guys like Wendler and Mark Rippetoe but for what you’re doing you owe it yourself to buy the amazing illustrated “Supple Leopard” book by Kelly Starrett. Everything you need is in there
