A couple months ago I heard a "Mixon was just doing what he had to do" when he leveled that woman, a point that same person repeated regarding Bill Cosby (also a point my parents would make about Michael Jackson, though I never puzzled out that one)

My father believed Jackson was "guilty of being human" while my mom continues to say Jacko's wealth prevented him from "slinking around on the streets" (an argument she also applies to celibate priests...they're kept "safe" and "out of view" in a kind of "neverland")
