No braces, spent 20 bucks extracting my wisdom teeth (6 of them!) while in grad school and working off a "cadillac" plan, no mouth problems at all, same dentist since I was a baby (and now his partner, since he retired) and other old dentists when I couldn't get to him
Nearly everything those savages push on you, from root canals to invisalign, is some kind of hustle...the oral equivalent of undercoating your rust bucket "K" car. Clean my teeth, fill a cavity if necessary, and pull the teeth that need to go. That's it

I’d differ on root canals. I had an unfortunate encounter with an olive pit, toughed it out overnight and then went to a dentist. Halfway through, he said, “Have to start over. I screwed up, jet-lagged.” Thanks!

They’re needed occasionally but not in nearly the volume some are doing them — some dentists are averaging a root canal a tooth per patient, and many work with lenders to finance all that crap.
