I wanted to see how the pretend libs would handle it when I implemented a state of total equality. People were mad about my teaching in tank tops, telling folks “Dr Bateman was my father,” and refusing to wear academic regalia to graduation (I wore a shirt reading “burn it down”)

I remember catching flack for refusing to use my various titles because I had enough “privilege” to deny all my privilege, whereas others needed to be respected as “doctors” and so on

I rarely read a paper that had any of point of view. Most of my students were extremely not online, so I never had a sense of their opinions of that stuff. Identifying the doge was a bonus question on most exams, sometimes twice in the same semester, and most missed it
