I remember when I burnt out on academia and there were these rumors swirlong that I spent all my time lifting weights and reading about muscle people and no time engaged in the gossip surrounding academia, the ring-kissing and brown-nosing of the hierarchy-obsessed elites

I just really love lifting weights, and I always have. It has been one of the great joys of my life, and to keep improving at it late into my third decade is a real treat. A real treat, kiddos.

Of course, they've also helped me support my family in a way they couldn't if they were merely forgotten high school sports or unproductive nerd hobbies pursued obsessively to acquire trivial knowledge. I've found a way to subsidize my passions by writing about them for others
