as a "boss" my subject-matter expertise takes a backseat to limiting the "REPLY ALLS" and unmuted phones, and my ability to speak on conference calls in a clear steady voice + end conference calls fifteen minute early is the stuff of legend

most work gossip has to do with whoever is "replying all" or talking out of turn on the conference call, so get a handle on that and you're a regular general patton of the corporate world

Let me know if this actually works

if you begin all your conference calls with "MUTE THOSE PHONES" and every single email with "DO NOT REPLY ALL" and then embed that throughout the email, it appears to work 80% of the time, and all you've got to do is spend hours each day stressing it
