so even prior to the lifting, you were read as 'big' and intimidating? Makes me realise how easily my worldview accommodates the 'hard gainers' wanting size...and how little I'd considered the freedoms of having that choice.

I think that's very possible, yes. I think I'm certainly less intimidating than someone who appeared "out of place"
