Or spent a thousand hours feeling dirty and ashamed from "leveling" in JRPGs, or read a steady diet of nothing but wrestling autobiographies, or taken some real beatings/hidings "on the reg" from a dad who was a legit unit, etc.

I'm not sure how much it matters to readers, but I hope there's a certain kind of sincerity that comes through in my work, a certain "value add," from actually having bench pressed 405 lbs or defended takedowns against decently skilled d1 wrestlers or eaten 3 pizzas in a sitting
