I have never had the time or money to chase “that one beautiful sentence” creative nonfiction/literary fiction people allegedly spending months pursuing. I almost never work past a second draft. But my copy arrives on time and my invoices are flawless.

I should take my time. No one is paying me anything decent for what I write, though I haven't done a thing in 6 months. I started a book in November in the midst of taking care of my mom. She died in December, so I should have all the time in the world and yet I flounder.
