Stories the mainstream media is constantly rediscovering despite the fact that people like me are paid to cover them: --athletes and others use steroids! --wrestling is dangerous --wrestlers are 1099 workers --weight lifting is becoming more popular and potentially "woke"
Seriously, you can read a few of these "Groundhog Day" stories every month, usually some threadbare trend piece forced upon a staffer or some freelancer who just lifted a weight or watched a wrestling match deciding they needed to reveal these truths to the world
I don't mind, since in a way it grows the market for what I do, but I'm fascinated by how these stories are almost always the same story
It's pervasive. We had, what, 30? 40? years of "Biff, pow! Comics aren't just for kids" headlines before the superhero movie glut finally put a stop to it.
Oh yes, and those stories persisted into the Raimi Spider-Man / Singer X-Men days ... now we get nonstop stories about nerd entitlement and "comics are for everyone"
