Yeah, but what if everyone up there stayed home and sent a check to aid people in Nepal instead? I think that would help a lot more people, plus save time, jet fuel and keep a natural wonder cleaner.
there are surely some positive externalities, much as there are for yacht builders and yacht crews, but is this direction of resources wise in an aggregate sense? People can do what they want, but those behaviors aren't above review or criticism. And is $3m an insubstantial sum?
