A lot of expressed Literary-Media Twitter preferences, particularly in these little closed discursive communities, are total pretense at best (the speaker is just as lazy as the rest of us and reads nothing, while aping the "critical consensus") and cynical logrolling at worst

A lot of writing isn't actually liked, it's "liked" because there is some value within the discursive community to be seen publicly "liking" it when in fact the "liker" is re-reading Mockingjay for the 50,000th time and living amid a pile of takeout cartons like everyone else
